Position Job Title: National VP of Sales and Training
FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt
Location: This position can be based in any of the following locations: Irvine, CA, Roseville, CA, Scottsdale, AZ, Greenwood Village, CO, Beaverton, Issaquah, WA, OR, Houston, TX.
Position Summary
The New Home Company is looking for a National VP of Sales and Training. The person in this role will have a passion for homebuilding, sales, and marketing and will be a member of our leadership team.
As the National Director of Sales with The New Home Company, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our national sales strategy.
This position will focus on sales manager training, online sales training, establishing KPI’s around lead generation, follow up and conversion. This position will drive budgeting and spend visibility across all of The New Home Company divisions. The person in this role will work closely with each Division to understand their unique market characteristics and work to identify sales capabilities and training opportunities.
The position will also train and support the Divisions through the consistent messaging of our corporate culture, business initiatives and expectations to help ensure that the procurement of traffic and sales is consistent with company best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, however other duties may be assigned:
- Assist divisions in the development and execution of their strategic plans to achieve sales targets.
- Assist Division Presidents in the training, mentoring and coaching of their sales leaders to attract, hire and retain world-class sales teams.
- Assist Division sales leaders with on-boarding new sales managers.
- Advise on sales manager compensation programs.
- Create and conduct a national sales manager training program.
- Analyze sales success drivers and conversions to achieve desired results.
- Advise teams on realtor relations.
- Train teams to conduct effective sales meetings.
- CRM and ERP training.
- Consult divisions on the strategic opening of new communities.
- Build out the company’s on-line sales strategy with the goal of enhancing lead generation.
- Create and communicate national sales goals and ensure the New Home executive teams are informed on the progress of those goals.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Customer Journey to increase customer satisfaction drive referral business.
- Understand industry-specific trends and landscapes as well as the unique challenges of each New Home operating division.
- Understand, interact and support other functional areas within The New Home Company.
- Willing to perform other duties as required.
Position Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Strong understanding of sales and marketing within the homebuilding industry: Strong organization and follow up skills.
- Previous experience working with realtors, sales leaders and sales managers trade partners and contracts within the homebuilding industry.
- Understanding of the total cost of ownership for a division.
- Position will require periodic travel to each New Home Company Division.
- A Bachelors’ degree a plus (but not required).
- A minimum of nine (9) years of experience in the home building industry, with knowledge of sales, marketing, and/or other construction-related activities involved with the construction of a home.
- Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience within the sales and marketing field.
- Ability to read and understand strategic business plans and financial statements.
- Experience training sales managers.
Base Salary: The expected base salary range for this position is between $150,000 to $200,000 per year, depending on experience and skillset. Base Salary is paid bi-weekly, every other Friday. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on divisional and individual performance.

Physical Activities
Requires the ability to bend, lift up to 25 pounds, reach, see in full color vision, stand, sit, walk, walk on uneven terrain (at times), hear, type and talk. The primary work location is a corporate office with low to moderate noise levels. The secondary work location is any site under construction which is moderate to high noise level. Secondary location may require working in heat, cold, or inclement weather. May have exposure to hazardous materials and require personal protective equipment such as eye, respiratory and hearing protection, wearing hard hat and steel toe boots.
