Position Job Title:    Technology, Business Intelligence Intern

Position Summary 
The New Home Co. Internship Program is designed to provide hands-on experience in the dynamic field of New Home Sales and Technology.  This role offers the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of data structures, reporting tools, and analytics while contributing to impactful projects and initiatives.

During this internship, the Technology Intern will participate in key tasks, such as data identification, proof-of-concept development, and achieve proficiency with the HubSpot data model. This role provides valuable exposure to the systems side of the business, allowing the intern to gain insight into how data analysis integrates within the homebuilding industry.

Job Duties:
  • General & Administrative Duties:
    • Data Exploration & Analysis: Extract and clean data from HubSpot to conduct exploratory data analysis.
    • Opportunity Assessment: Analyze Sales & Marketing data to pinpoint trends, anomalies, or inefficiencies.
    • Modeling Initiatives: Apply statistical and predictive modeling techniques (e.g., regression analysis, clustering) to test hypotheses and quantify potential benefits.
    • Proof-of-Concept Creation: Develop one or two proof-of-concepts that clearly demonstrate the potential impact of data-driven insights.
    • Reporting & Presentation: Prepare detailed reports and presentations that summarize analysis methods, results, and actionable recommendations for team review.
       
  • Shadowing/Meeting Attendance:
    • Receive regular one-on-one guidance from Engineering and other experienced team members, ensuring continuous learning and feedback. 
    • Attend department meetings and provide feedback in team discussions
  • Special Projects:
    • The Final Internship Project is an opportunity for the intern to showcase the skills, knowledge, and insights they have gained throughout the program. This project will be presented to supervisors and team members, serving as both a reflection of the intern's journey and a valuable overview of their contributions to the organization.

Position Qualifications
Education
  • Currently enrolled in a collegiate program

Skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized and follows tasks through to completion.
  •  Able to manage time wisely and work within deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible, able to anticipate, prioritize and multi-task.
  • Must be computer literate, with intermediate experience in Windows, Word, and Excel 
  • Experience with data analysis tools and languages (Python, R, SQL, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with statistical techniques and predictive modeling.
  • Ability to work with complex data sets, draw meaningful conclusions, and support actionable insights
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a small team.

Physical Requirements:
Requires the ability to hear, type and talk in addition to sitting 100% of the time. The primary work location is a corporate office with low to moderate noise levels.
